- Our son is stationed at Ft. Riley and is scheduled for deployment in May. We wanted to spend his
final weekend with him prior to his departure. ... This resort is absolutely a HIDDEN TREASURE!
Other than going to the grocery store, we never left the grounds. We stayed 3nights/4days
enjoying the fishing, hiking and just sitting around the campfire. We rented a pontoon and spent
one entire day out on Milford Lake fishing...and caught a BOATLOAD. The staff is excellent!
Facilities A+ and scenery beautiful. We definitely plan to return when our son returns. Highly
recommend a stay at Acorns Resort. Great family vacation for all of us and good time spent with
our son prior to his deployment. 5/2012
- 50 characters just doesn't give me enough space to describe this property, the cabin we stayed in (#10) or the
wonderful people who run this resort in the woods... The cabin is huge- much bigger than the pictures indicate.
The rooms are very spacious and spotless with beds that were sooooo comfortable (and I'm picky) with warm
comforters. The feeling of absolute solitude just wraps around you the moment you drive around the corner. My
son returned from Afghanistan to a grand surprise- a cabin in the woods and his brothers surprised him. 3
brothers over 20 can use up space pretty quickly and they had elbow room a-plenty. Wonderful kitchen....How
many times can I use the word "wonderful"? The Army changed our dates for my son's return flight and the
incredible folks at Acorn Resorts not only helped make the changes but also helped keep it from draining my life-
savings! Many use the words "We Support the Troops" but Acorn Resorts walks the walk and they do it with a
smile on their face, a hand held out to shake, and a genuine "We're glad you found us" when you show up. If
anyone has something negative to say, my guess is they'd be critical of the Taj Mahal as well. Absolutely Perfect

- The grounds were so peaceful. Lots of land to walk around on & right on the lake. We had cabin #1, & it was so
nice. Very up-to-date and felt pretty new, not the old kind of a feel like you often get with musty log cabins. We
loved it! We spent the New Year here & it was perfect. Redeemed, 1/12
- "What an amazing place to bring my Cav Scout home to, after getting back from Afghanistan! The pictures do
not do this cabin justice…it’s absolutely huge, the rooms are spacious, spotless, it’s set up for people to enjoy
each other’s company and the beds are oh soooooo comfortable. I can’t say enough about Acorn Resorts and we
were treated like family with kindness and generosity from the first contact through the last courtesy call
informing us about a few items left behind. Thank you all for making this a fabulous week. We will most

- “Beautiful,relaxing,friendly place to stay. My husband and I spent two nights in a cabin. The cabin
was clean and well furnished with pans, eating utensils, and even a dishwasher. It was homey and
spacious. We hope to come back with our four children and take advantage of the beach and lake
activities they have to offer. The lady that greeted us in the office was especially welcoming and
made us feel impoprtant. I will definitly recommend this to my friends and family." Jessbles,

- "We had a great stay at your resort from 1 December-5 December 2011. The location was conveniently
located to Fort Riley where we did most of our quail/pheasant hunting. The lodge accomodations exceeded
our expectations. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The only recommendations I would suggest
would be to add more breezeway lighting in the lodges. There are lights at each doorway but if they are
vacant there is no light. Some overhead lighting would be nice in this location and also more overhead
lighting in the lodge rooms. All in all a great stay and would recommend to others." Stacy G, 12/6/11
- "We had a wonderful time at your resort and plan on making it an annual event. Fishing was so good we
caught them two at a time! We caught a 4# smallmouth, a 6 1/2# wiper and lots of wipers in the 2 to 3#
range. When the wind came up and we were miles from the resort scared to death to take the boat back
home, the resort people came to pick us up. We are extremely appreciative!! Wonderful fishing, great

- "My wife, 3 children (ages 2, 5, and 9), the dog, and I spent 3 fantastic days at Acorn Resorts! The cabin
was clean, nicely furnished, and had a spectacular view of the lake. The layout of the resort is nicely
integrated into the topography and yet keeps the amenities close without intruding! The staff were
outstanding! Everyone from the office personnel to the guys mowing the lawn and helping with the boat
rentals were professional, pleasant, and courteous. Mike obviously runs a tight ship and is expanding the
resort even further. The new boat dock had just been completed when we stayed there in June and several new
cabins were under construction. It will obviously pay off in the long run as we had to book a reservation a

- "We followed all the scare tactics on the Internet and warnings on the news, but decided to
come out anyway. We saw nothing unusual but maybe 2 areas of the algae in the middle of
the lake. We had a great time as usual! We actually had the lake to ourselves. I would tell
anyone who is planning on coming to the lake to not change their plans. Come out and have
